A Gentle Path to Wellness

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) was discovered in Japan in 1922 by Dr. Mikao Usui. Reiki is a gentle and effective form of holistic therapy that aims to promote healing and balance in your life. Reiki combines the words "Rei" (universal) and "Ki" (life energy/biofield energy), representing the universal life force that flows through all living things. As long as something is alive, it has life force energy circulating through it and surrounding it (scientific research has long proven this). 


Life energy flows through the body through pathways chakras, meridians, and nadis. These energies pass through organs and flow around us in a field energy called "aura". When the biofield energy is disrupted, it causes diminished functioning within organs and tissue and becomes the main cause of illness. This is the same ancient energetic teachings known to Acupuncturists.


Life energy is also responsive to thoughts and feelings. When negative thoughts/feelings (low energetic frequency) become lodged into the subconscious mind, it creates a disruption to the flow of healthy, higher vibratory energy. Reiki increases the vibratory frequency within and around the physical body to help clear the pathways. 


A research study at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut indicates Reiki improved patient sleep by 86%, reduced pain by 78%, reduced nausea by 80% and reduced anxiety by 94%. Hospitals around the United States have begun to include Reiki as a holistic healing modality. 


Benefits of Reiki

Reiki offers a variety of benefits that support both physical and emotional well-being:

  • Emotional Balance: Reiki can help you process emotions, find clarity, foster emotional resilience, and reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
  • Pain Relief: Reiki can help reduce symptoms related to a wide variety of pain, from chronic or acute conditions. 
  • Enhanced Well-Being: Reiki supports general wellness, aiding in sleep improvement, decrease in negative thought patterns, increased immune system support, and boosting overall vitality.


What to Expect in a Reiki Session

  • Comfortable Positioning: You’ll lie down fully clothed on a comfortable massage table. If you prefer, you can also sit in a chair, couch, or your own bed. 
  • Gentle Touch or Hands-Off: The practitioner will lightly place their hands on or hover them over specific areas of your body. The touch is gentle and non-invasive. This can also be done long-distance, as energy flows where attention goes. 
  • Release: You may feel a sensation of tingling as the energy flows through you. You may also notice muscle twitching, hot/cold sensations, the need to release emotions (i.e., tears, yawning), or memories/visions may arise to be acknowledged and released.

In-Home 75 minutes

In your own space, you will have a 15 minute discussion followed by 45 minutes of Reiki and another 15 minutes of debriefing. Your distance from Nicole will determine the final cost. 

Facetime 75 minutes

$150

Energy grows where attention flows. Reiki studies have shown the same effectiveness with in-person treatments and long distance. Some prefer the in-person experience, being in the same energetic space as the practitioner. It all just depends on your preference and location! 

Facetime 30 minutes

When you need a quick recalibration, this is a great option. Energy grows where attention flows. Reiki studies have shown the same effectiveness with in-person treatments and long distance.
